Don’t let Facebook be the gatekeeper

Edited

We love to use Facebook for those quick updates because it feels so easy.
Todays dining special... a last minute change to an event... a casual photo.
STRAIGHT TO FACEBOOK.

For a smaller club, this is a very practical solution - a quick and dirty fix.
What you may not have noticed is that you now have a Facebook bouncer at your door - his name is Al... Al Gorithm 😉

His job is to limit how many people actually get into your venue. This is done under the guise of ensuring that your audience only get to see what is most relevant to them. Al is making that decision for you and he does a great job, but the truth is, he has a secret agenda. Al has been instructed to only allow 5% of your customers in your front door.

Why? Because Facebook wants to own you.

Every time you post to Facebook alone, you are giving Al a pat on the back and the throttling continues.

The worst part... when you really need to reach EVERYONE, you now need to pay for the privilege (eg; Facebook boosting).

The solution? Build your website as the central hub of communication, supported by consistent in-venue TV promotions, backed up by social media.
- Consistency builds trust
- Cross-channel = maximum reach
- Repetition = results

If only there was a way to keep doing it the easy way, but automatically get all that other good stuff 🤔
